Need help in BE 2010 CPS in use with Exchange LCR explanation

Quick question guys,

What is the actual use of CPS if i use it with BE 2010 to backup my Exchange Server 2007 which is now using LCR technology ?

I could see the option enabled when I'm creating the backup job for Exchange Server 2007 but I'm not sure if this is can be used as part of my standard BE 2010 R2 + Exchange Agent license ?

any help please ?

James,

By using the ordinary BE 2010 + Agent for Exchange, it allows the granular restore (GRO) - it is a disk based version of "backup mailboxes" to allow single messages to be restored.  When you do GRT method to disk it would then replicate the disk backup to tape automatically for you.

more like LCR but in this case BE writes to the tape drive.
