Netware Directory Object

Running Backup Exec 10d. Netware 6.5 SP5.
After upgrading to Netware 6.5 SP5 from 6.5 4a, we are no longer able to browse or pick for backup the Netware Directory (NDS, schema) objects or the Groupwise 7 object.

Neither of these solutions helped. I should have mentioned I CAN browse & backup the GroupWise objects, its the Netware Schema and NDS objects that I can't see or back up.Message was edited by:

Apologies, but your initial post suggested that you had problems seeing and backing up your GroupWise objects.

Anyway, is TSANDS.NLM loaded on the NetWare server? To check this, just type M TSANDS at the server console. If it isn't loaded, just type TSANDS and it should load the nlm. You should then be able to backup your NDS objects.

Yes, TSANDS is loaded. I'm sorry I modified my statement to read that it is only the NDS objects not the Groupwise objects I am having trouble with.

Hmm, what's the date for TSANDS.NLM? Maybe try the following steps on the NetWare server:

1. BESTOP
2. UNLOAD TSANDS
3. LOAD TSANDS
4. BESTART
5. Restart Backup Exec services on media server

Can you now see your NDS objects under Remote Selections-->NetWare Agents?

Stopped BE services
unloaded TSANDS
loaded TSANDS
Started BE services
No....still cannot browse NDS objects.

Can I just confirm, are you backing up your NetWare server by making selections via 'Remote Selections' --> 'NetWare Agents'?

If so, you might want to consider updating TSANDS.NLM by installing TSA5UP19:

Yes, you are correct. That is how we are doing the backup.
We updated TSA5UP19 and it actually made it so that we could not backup or see the Groupwise objects either. We back-rev'd it to an earlier version. We can now see the Groupwise objects but not the NDS objects.
I will re-post after downing & restarting the Netware server.

Yes, SMDR.NLM from TSA5UP19 has a problem with GroupWise - see my first post. I'd recommend that you try TSANDS.NLM from TSA5UP19 to see if this helps.
