New Job Queued

When I create a new job and click "run now" the job has a status of Queued and will not move from there for at least 8 hours. I have not been patient enough to wait longer. Is this a known problem? I am using version 11.0 Version 6235. I am not sure how to get a build number at this stage. Help about only gives me the above. it is verion 11d according the the screen.
 
Live update will not work as well. It crashed downloading the updates

OK, I am silly. The disk I was backing up to had the record lock on. Why I am not sure because there was no jobs running tape or otherwise. Kiled that and all was ok.
 
Now to find out why Liveupdate is not working

LiveUpdate, are you running it through an RDP?
 
Does it show the same results if you are on the server?
