Notification to distribution group not sending

Hi,

I am running Backup Exec 2010 R2 Ver 13.0 Rev 4164 (32-bit) attached to a Dell PowerVault TL4000 with 2 x backup drives and a Robotic Library.

I have several SMTP recipients setup. All user email objects work fine but when I try to 'test' send to a distribution group, nothing happens.

Email notification setup must be setup correctly as 'test' emails work fine when sent to individual recipients but not sure why I cannot send to a distribution group?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your mailserver (are you using exchange ?).
There can be some "Message Delivery Restrictions" applied to that specific distribution group.

Hi,

Yes, I am using Exchange and yes, under 'Message Delivery Restrictions' the distribution group in question had a tick beside 'Require that all senders are authenticated'.

There is no need for this and when I unticked this option the email sent successfully.
