Notifications - How to limit number of sent emails

Is it possible to limit the number of sent emails like in BE 9.x and 10.x? We receive lot of Notifications when a tape has to be inserted, and we want to reduce the number of this mails.

Yes, that's exactly what i mean!!! I need to now this for the old v8.x Version!!! With the v9 or v10 it's no problem...
