Hi everyone - i hope that someone can help me out...
Situation:
Backup Exec 9.1, SP4 (yes it installed! lol) Windows 2003 Std SP1, Dell 122T Autoloader (latest firmware)
Currently i locally backup 500ish GB of data per night. Some nights as high as 540GB. After a few days i receive OFO memory errors such as:
Backup - \\DCMMEL01OFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
OFO: Out of memory.
Backup - \\DCMMEL01OFO: Initialization failure on: "E:". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
OFO: Out of memory.
I have consulted Tech note http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/263139.htm - a restart of the backupexec services resolves the issue but reappears a few days later.
SinceIi have service pack 1 for W2k3 installed the versions of the Shaddow copy files listed in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826751are way below what the versions i have installed but still no joy - my versions are 5.2.3790.1830.
I dont believe this to be a MS issue as i have no problems taking normal Windows Volume Shaddow Copies of my E:\ scheduled four times a day. It only fails when Veritas runs the backup.
I also set "EnableSingleVolumeSnap" to "0" in the registry as per a Veritas article i found but jobs still fail.
I have plenty of free disk space on C: (>55GB) and E: (>190GB) - as i expanded my data array a few weeks back as it was critically low. My server is Dell PowerEdge 2800 with dual xeon's and 2GB RAM.
