OK to Run Backup Exec Server as Hyper-V guest

I'm wondering if it's recommended to run a Backup Exec 2014 server on a guest virtual machine on the same Hyper-V 2012R2 host that it will be backing up?

Hi,

BE isn't really supported to run on a VM. If you can run it on the host itself, or on another dedicated server, then you'd be fine.

Hyper-V to my knowledge, doesn't do SCSI Passthrough so connecting to tape drives and libraries wouldn't work.
