Offline issue

HI,

I am using Sysmantec Exe 2010 SP4

while runing a backup Tap drive goes offline and all jobs are getting missed.

...is the media server a VM? If so, then accessing a tape drive isn't supported at all.

If a physical server, then make sure you are running the Symantec drivers for the drive (run tapeinst.exe to install them), and also look at using the drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility to rule out hardware problems (stop the BE services before doing so).

Not in VM

physical server..done tapeinst.exe driver instaltion but no luck..

i use HP Storageworks ultrium 448....still searching for a tool to diaganose the hardware.

please suggest if any.

Stop the BE services before running it.

the adamm.log should give some details about why the drive went offline.
