One more question, once data is required to restore.
There is only one drive in my backup library.
How do differential backup data restore ? Since can't insert both full and differential backup tape to library.
Or just insert differential backup tape is ok ?
Thanks !

...you need both tapes to do a complete DIFF restore (FULL + DIFF), but only the DIFF to do a file-level restore of changed files since the previous FULL.
Thanks!

Hi,
May be let me introduce my environment.
There are 3 set tapes for backup and rotate every week on Monday.
Tape 1 (Week 1)
Tape 2 (Week 2)
Tape 3 (Week 3)
Tape 1 (Week 4)
** Rotate backup tape (Every Monday)
====================================
If I need to restore file on Tape 2 (Week 2), for example on Wednesday.
Thanks !

Should only be the second tape unless you're restoring all the data.

Hi,
Yes, only 2nd tape is in tape library.
If restoring data, then both tape have to insert to library ? Any slot is ok ?
Thanks

Yes, as long as you Inventory/Scan the slots. Otherwise crate an Import job and BE will be made aware of the tape.
