Overwrite Media

Dilip_Patel
Not applicable
The Media Set has been setup to Overwrite.

It is telling me to "Please insert overwrite Media into the Drive". Am I missing some setup somewhere?

I am having the same issue.  Using BackupExec QuickStart ver 10(d).  I have checked the overwrite settings in three areas:

1) Tools | Options | Media Management - over write protection set to "None", Prompt box is unchecked.

Media overwrite options radio button is set for scratch.
**********************
2) Under Media tab, the media set properties are set on Overwrite (none), Append Period (infinite - allow append)

************************
3) If I check properties of each and every tape in the media set - individually - they all show

Overwrite protection until: "Overwriteable"
Appendable until "Infinite - Allow append"

All tapes in the media set are in the Media set.... i.e. nothing in retired, scratch, or imported.

But whether I run a test job immediately, or a scheduled job, I get "insert overwriteable media."

Personnally I think the QuickStart edition is faulty.  Is anyone having any luck with it?
