If in backup Exec 8.6 the append period on a media Set has been set to 1 day and the overwrite period has been set to 6 days:
Using a robotic Library
A partition has been setup with two tapes in it.
Two servers are set to use this partition in the their backup Jobs. Both Backup jobs are set to use the "append to media first and overwrite if no appendable media is available" Please don't ask why I didn't set one server to Overwrite before appending. Anyway
Both tapes are blank
Server A runs first
Server B run second
Server A uses the first tape switches to Overwrite and overwrites using only half the tape.
When server B tries to do its backup will if be able to append to the first tape or will it switch to overwrite and use the second tape?
