Overwrite protection period for media sets

Hi
Our Backup Exec 9.1 server crashed, and we needed to reinstall it.
Now all our media have this overwrite setting:
Infinite - Don't Allow Overwrite
Even though the media set that contains all these media, have this settings:
Overwrite protection 1 year
Append period 3 days
And the Allocated Date for the media is over 1 year ago.
How do I force the media to use the Overwrite/append periods from the media set, as it should ?

Thanks in advance

Since you reinstalled BackupExec -

Did you re-create the media sets, or did you recover from the BEDB.BAK file?

Do the tapes actually belong to the media set, or are they listed as "Imported Tapes"

Hi,

Do you have Service Pack 2 for backup Exec 9.1 installed?
If not, please install service Pack 4 from the following weblink:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/279308

Media being falsely reported as having the overwrite setting "Infinite - Don't Allow Overwrite" has been resolved in the hotfix 3 which is now included in the latest Service Pack.

Hope it helps!

Why don't you front line techs know that SP1, SP2 and SP3 have been withdrawn from the available service downloads?

Why is only the broken SP4 still available?

The problem was solved after I installed SP4.
Thanks for your help everybody
