I had a pretty close call this weekend and was lucky my exchange server witch is also a domain conroller had some major issues. I was able to get it back up and running though. Through this I realized I was not getting a complete restore. I did have my mailboxes and amilbox store along with sysvol and Shadow copy componets backed up. what i would like to know is how to backup a image complete enough to restore say if my exhange and domain controler were lost and I had to rebuild them from scratch? Do I besides backing exchange up backup all drives ? Would a restore from this put everything back on? even exchange software? Is there a way to use this software to make a complete IMAGE of a box?
Thank You
Dave

See the Admin Guide - Preparing for Disaster Recovery and Recovering

The guide available at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/266190.htm if you can't find the bound copy.

Basically you get a complete backup of all drives, and an Exchange Stores backup. Mailbox backups are a nice addition (when the restores actually work - see the forums for lots of cases when they don't) In a DR situation you DO NOT want to do mailbox restores
