Hi.
We have a question about the best practices.
We are using Microsoft Hyper-V as a hypervisor.
Our storage array Dell PowerVault MD3200 is connected to Hyper-V host via SAS cables – you can see our configuration on the picture (in the attachment).
So there are pass-through disks - not iSCSI and that's why it is not possible to backup just a vhd file with VM powered on.
We are already backing up our VM using Agent for Windows.
But how easy we can restore a whole machine to Hyper-V manager from this backup?
The VM is installed on C: drive - is this good idea to use "backup and then convert to Virtual Machine" with only C: disk selected?
Best regards,
Mateusz

Hello
The Backup and convert to Virtual Machine option will only work when all Critical System components are selected in teh Backup.
For example: If your Server has OS installed on C and Programs installed on D, you can only use the conversion option when you have selected Entire C, D and system state in the backup.
