Post Install of SQL 2005 Client on a Win 2003 server

I have Backup Exec 11d running on a basic Win 2003 std Server. This server is used only for file and print purposes. This server and various other remote computers(via the agent) are backed up each night.

I noticed that the 4 services are running at the moment that refere to sql.

SQL Server (BKUPEXEC)
SQL Server Active Directory Helper
SQL Server Browser
SQL Server VSS Writer

I have to install the "SQL 2005 client" in order for a report writer to run called "Cyberquery". This report writer will query a remote SQL database located elsewhere.

Will installing this client disrupt or conflict with the current Veritas or server  operation?

Thanks in advance.   Phil

Phil,

You should not have any issues with installing the SQL 2005 client on the Backup Exec server.  The only time the client and server should interact is when you use the client to connect to the SQL Instance.  If you need more information on how the client interacts with the server I would suggest contacting Microsoft Smiley Happy
