Problem backing-up an MSDE database.

My backup server is a Dell PowerEdge 2850 running Windows Server 2003. I have just installed BackupExec for windows server 11d. This install includes AOFO and SQL client. I am trying to do a backup of another server (MS051FS04) using the remote agent. It backs up the 2 drives just fine, including the Utility Partition and the System?State. But when it comes to backing up the MSDE database which resides on the server, I get the following errors.

Hello,

I'd suggest testing a backup of that MSDE instance by itself, using the SQL agent, without AOFO. AOFO and SQL agent both have their own open-file handling porcesses, and using both on the same job can cause conflicts.

In SQL 2000, I use the enterprise manager to setup a database dump maintenance plan to backup the data to a backup directory before the tape job.   I just backup this directory instead of active SQL files.  Can MSDE do something similar?
