Problem upgrading from 9.0 to 9.1

Steve_Kibble

We have Backup Exec for Windows 9.0 installed on our server and I have downloaded the 9.1 update from the veritas website.
When I attempt to update 9.0 to 9.1 it gives me the following message:

"Please provide original BEWS install media to re-apply transforms."

I have the original 9.0 CD in the cd drive of the machine, but it still persists with this error message.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks.

Hello,

yes I have downloaded the installation files to the hard drive and when I run the setup file, it gets so far and then produces the error message saying to insert the oringinal BEWS install media to reapply transforms.

Any ideas?

Steve.

Hello

-This error may occur if the MSI installer package used to install Backup Exec is not registered correctly. We suggest you refer to the following steps to resolve this issue:

- Re-register the Windows Installer using following method:
* Go to Start > Run.
* Type msiexec /regserver and then click OK. Run the installation and verify the results.

If the issue persist, we suggest you to download and install the MSI cleanup utility from the following link:
