Problem with Netapp share backup

Dusko

I am trying to backup Nettapp server through user defined selection, without using the NDMP option. I can succesfully define netapp storage in "User defined selections", browse contents of Netall storage and select files and folders for backup and create backup job. However:

When I try to check credentials I get the following:

resource                       logon accounts                      test results

\\netappstoragename   domainname\accountname  Failure: The BEWS remote agents is not installed.... sharename                   domainname\accountname  Succesfull

So this backup job can connect to netapp share and browse contents. However when I try to run backup job, I get error: "e000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly." What is the problem here, how can the same credentials for connecting to remote resource work when I create job and fail when I run it ???

Just a query - have you disabled NDMP on the filer itself?

Yes, NDMP option is disabled.

When I enable it, I can not even browse remote selection. So yes, it is off.

Ah, think we had this problem too..
We added the backup a/c in as an Administrator on the filer via Computer Management which I think worked..
I'll see if I can find the original issue we raised..
