We are backing up about 3.5TB of data most of it is video files. We are using the new HP 1760 LTO4 tape drive, with compression the tapes should store 1.6TB of data, it appears that the files are not compressing using the Hardware compression option. My question is does anyone know if it is possible to compress video files using the hardware option or should I seek out trying to compress the files using some type of software?
