Problems to install BackupExec 12.0 in Windows 2008 Server R2

I am trying to move my backup Exec 12.0 from windows 2003 server to windows 2008 Server R2, but I can't it say that it is not compatible with windows 2008, I searched in the symantec web link and there say that it is compatible with windows 2008, what can I do to fix this problem?

Backup Exec 12.0 does not support Windows 2008 R2 as Media server.

Backup Exec 12.5 also does not support Windows 2008 R2 as Media Server. We can install Remote Agent of Backup Exec 12.5 on Windows 2008 R2 and can take file system backups

Backup Exec 2010 and Backup Exec 2010 R2 fully supports Windows 2008 R2 Operating Sytem.
