Public Folder Backup errors on Exchange Server

I have been getting this following error for the last few months now. Normally when you get this error with mailboxes you can purge them and it disappears. However these particular public folders still exist. I have recreated the folders and moved all their content over and i am still getting the errors. In fact they are actually increasing. In the support knowledge base it mentions to remove them from the selection list, however if i do that then i will no longer be backing up my public folder store. Which just isn't an option. Please take a look below at my sample of errors and hopefully you can shed some light on here.

Hello,

Please refer to the following technote:

- "The directory is invalid" (a000fe09 HEX or e000fe09 HEX) is reported when a backup job fails

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/266179.htm

- A backup operation fails with the error message: "Directory not found. Can not back up directory <\directory> and its subdirectories" or "The directory is invalid."

http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/207001.htm

Thank You,

Shweta

Both of these articles that you gave me, tell me to remove the public folders from the backup list. This is NOT an option as this will stop the backup of my public folders. There has to be another solution to this problem. Or am i wrong that it wont prevent the backup of my public folder store?

Please let me know

Hello,

Although you can already select the public folders for backup, please refer to the following document to ensure that the account has owner Privileges on the public folders in outlook:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/276481

Thanks!

i have verified all permissions to be correct as per the article. Please advise me of what to do next. This problem keeps getting worse, i have since removed the public folders giving the errors from the back up but new ones just pop up as i remove the bad ones.

thanks,
jen
