Quantum PX500 series missing tape slots

We just installed and purchased a Quantum PX500 series tape library (38 slots, one LTO3 tape drive) and are using Backup Exec 10.1 Rev 5629 with SP3 installed running on a Dell 2950 with Windows Server 2003 SP1.

Try as we might, we cannot get more than two slots to show up in Backup Exec. The library is set for P2000 series emulation per another article we read on here. The library is set on SCSI channel 2 with the tape drive on SCSI channel 3.

Of the two slots that show, it can inventory the the slot and correctly reads the barcode label.

We have used the Symantec drivers for the tape drive and used the Windows driver for the library (default driver loaded is "Unknown Media Changer") or the specific Quantum driver. We have uninstalled all Symantec Drivers using tapeinst.exe and reinstalled using that utility. We've even gone as far as reinstalling Backup Exec from scratch.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Thx

For anyone who is experiencing the same issue as we are, we found a solution.

In the Quantum Library Configuration, under "Load Ports" the Cabinet had to be set to "None" instead of column or magazine. A reboot of Windows showed all 38 slots in the system and all is working well.
