RALUS hangs while attempting to stat NFS mounted share

Hello,

I have installed VRTSralus version 7170 on Fedora core 6..    My backup exec server is win2k3 running BE 11d.

When the backup job attempts to backup this client the beremote hangs at the following:

Code:
4638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 :              vx_stat_by_name: Getting stat of /data4638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : Versioned dir dblk osinfo type, os_spec_size=77 dirInfoSize=774638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : Unix_SetInfo: dir (data), native (data)-(5) setting uid=0 gid=0 type=2 mode=168774638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : ndmpdApiLog: version:34638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : ndmpdApiLog: message_id = 10, log_type = 0, entry_len=264638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : ndmpSendRequest: message:0xf2044638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : sent          seq#: 293 msg: 0xf2044638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 : ====> VX_FindNext4638b90 Thu May 10 16:50:29 2007 :              vx_stat_by_name: Getting stat of /data/ActiveDirectoryHomes

The BE 11d server waits indefinitely for something to happen from the client.

In my /etc/VRTSralus/ralus.cfg i have the following entry:

Code:
Software\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\RALUS\SystemExclude6=/data/ActiveDirectoryHomes

Also on the BE server I have omitted the /data/ActiveDirectoryHomes directory.

The software still attempts to stat this directory and NFS permissions do not allow this (as root).

Is there any way to tell the ralus software to not backup NFS mounts?   why doesnt the ralus.cfg line item for SystemExclude skip past this directory.

Thanks for your help.

-Jeff

Hi Jeff -

Unfortunately Fedora 6 is not supported with Backup Exec 11d.

Here is a link to the 11d Software Compatibility List to reference.

Symantec Backup Exec 11d (11.0) for Windows Servers - Software Compatibility List (SCL)

Thanks Jared,

Regardless, this fact doesnt solve my problem nor answer my question.   The kernel running on my fedora machine is the same as RHEL AS 4 which is "officially" supported by your linux client.  Also I have other various versions of linux which have the same problem.

If anyone else with technical knowledge of the RALUS Linux client would be kind to provide any insight on the problem I would be much appreciative.
