RDX Quickstor is not seen by Backup Exec software

Hi Everyone,

I have a Tandbery Data RDX Quickstor drive connected to my works file server by USB. The Quickstor is seen, within Windows Explorer, as an additional drive.

Now I am attempting to setup a backup job in Backup Exec 10.1 which is intended to refer back to the Quickstor drive.

There is only one challenge, Backup Exec doesn't see the Quickstor Drive!

If I click on the devices tab of Backup Exec I see no mention of the drive.

Any assistance in getting this thing to work will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

David Dartnell

Hi there,

Please take a look at the HCL for BEWS 10.0 here:

ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_for_WindowsNT/281670.pdf

That device doesn't appear to be supported by your version of BEWS 10.1, and in this case I would then suggest looking at upgrading to BEWS 12.5 at a minimum, and BEWS 2010 for newer features.
You can check out your license options with Symantec and they will be able to advise further...

Laters!
