Hello,

Are you backing Up a Linux Machine?

To backup a linux machine you need to install the linux license and the push install the remote agent..

Thank You......

I am trying to backup a linux server which is on the same domain as our small business server, which has the Backup Exec install, currently have remote agent cal's. Was wondering from the reply if I also needed some extra software for the Linux server.

I have followed your directions for installing RALUS on a Linux Server... It wasn't until I came here that I saw your post about "push installing" the Linux Agent. Which is the correct way to install RALUS?

When I go to the "Install Remote Agents" screen in the Win2K3 version of BackupExec 10d, I only get options for push installing on a Windows or Netware server. How do I push install the Linux agent?

Since I can already see the RALUS server from BackupExec in Windows, do I even need to do that?

My only problem is that I cannot connect to the server when I'm creating my backup set. (I've already created a user called "root" in BE.)

Please help!!!!

Note: You do need an additional license for RALUS.

Hello,

As a preliminary step check the compatibility of the linux with the Backup exec.
According to the compatibility you can decide if it requires ralus or legacy agent.
