Can this be done? If so, how is this acheived?

Thanks.

Hello,

Yes, with the help of Backup Exec, you can backup servers across domains. There must be a one-way trust where the target domain trusts the host domain. The backup exec service account must belong to the target domain's local Administrators group.

Refer to the following technote for more information on establishing these trusts:

Title: How to configure Windows NT and Windows 2000 security to enable the Backup Exec service account to protect data in a domain network environment
http://support.veritas.com/docs/236744

Hope this information helps. In case you need further information on t his issue, revert to the forums with details.

Thanks. I have yet to test that, but while I do I have a follow-up question.

Is the method described in that support document also suitable for use with Microsoft domains that reside in a DMZ (but the media server does not), or is there a different recommended procedure for that particular situation?

Thanks.
