Remote agent not loading on windows xp pro

Was not able to push the remote agent from Backup exec 10.1d to win XP Pro. Copied the RANT32 folder to the root c directory of WIN XP machine and ran setupaa.cmd from the cmd black screen C:RANT32:\ prompt.

Machine pauses for a few seconds goes back to the prompt but no service is created in services,

Any help available on this subject?

For what it's worth, I was not able to push the agent either, to any of my servers or workstations. But I was able to run the setupaa locally and it did work. So, that doesn't help your particular problem, but it does probably point to an issue on the local machine. Maybe privileges or group policy prevents the installation of a service?
