Removing tape from DLT V4 drive does not cancel BE remove media alert

Backup Exec ejects the tape as we specified, but the backup job does not finish until the "Remove media from drive" alert is responded to. Shouldn't the tape drive send a signal to the software saying that the tape was removed and that automatically responds to that prompt? That's how I'm used to tape drives and Backup Exec working.

I have Respond Yes to alerts configured for selected events, such as Media Remove. Doesn't work. Job never finishes unless we manually respond Yes to alert. I also Re-enable Disabled Warnings. This causes the Media Remove alert dialog to open. I wait and wait. Nothing. Backup Exec doesn't respond Yes to the alert ... even though the tape has already been removed and the tape for the next job inserted.
