Replace a server bkp exec and catalog all old and retired medias

Hi all,

I will deploy a new server with BKP EXEC 2010 R3. My last one was 12.5

So, How could I make a restore from my last jobs if this new server won't has the historic? Should I catalog all my tapes again? Is there a bkp process from the last bkp software that I can put in the new one?

Simply copy catalog files from BE12.5 to BE2010.

The BE database (BEDB) contains your current, completed jobs etc & if you load your old BEDB, only then would these jobs appear in the new media server

If you want to keep all your settings, you should upgrade your existing BE 12.5 to BE 2010 and then migrate BE to your new server using the procedure in the document below
