My backup infrastructure with Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP1 is the following:
- 1x Central Administration Server (CAS)
- Some Managed Media Server (MMS) attached over WAN (VPN)
- Shared Deduplication folder on all servers
I created a job which backups the local servers at the MMS location to the deduplication folder on the local MMS.
With an optimized dedup job (linked job) the data were sending from the MMS to the CAS dedup folder (first time offline replication).
This works all fine, now I would like to restore data from a MMS directly on the CAS. I'm not sure if it works fine, because the data were "immediately" restored, but the jobs works on the MMS with the speed of the WAN link... The media on the CAS means also, that there Server is the MMS.
How is it possible to restore data from the media directly on the CAS without check from the MMS?
