Dear all,

I have some trouble with "restore job script file", I need to select many (~300) files everywhere in the tree of my backup.
The backup server is failed so I can't have access to the JOBHISTORY_GUID, but the catalog of the tape is done on the BackupExec server.

After reading and modifiy the SAMPLE\rjscript.txt in the selection part :

SELECTION1="\\XXX00002\F$\Apps\Uninst.ini"

and the result is :

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec>bemcmd -v -o90 -f"F:\testbatch1.txt"

Backup Exec Command Line Applet version 11.0.6235.
Copyright (c) 2006 Symantec Corporation. All rights reserved.

Connecting to local media server...
Connected.
Reading script file...
Getting user's default logon account...
Success.
ERROR: Invalid Selection.
ERROR processing script file: '-1'.

Disconnecting from server...
Disconnected.

RETURN VALUE: -1

Of course the file exist on tapes but I don't know where we put the "media" where Backup Exec have to find the file.

is someone can give me a example of script or help me to save many hours of selections.

Hi,

Do you mean that Backup Server was crashed and you built it again, install BE and then ran Catalog in order to restore data ?

What happens if you create a restore job manually ,instead of a script file ?

1.Start SGMON
http://support.veritas.com/docs/190979
2.Start the job with a script file !

3.Also check for the any related Event logs !

Update us on the same and revert for any further Query

Thank you
