Hi Guys/Gals,
Having a little bit of a problem when trying to restore my exchange 2003 server to test our disaster recovery process. I was hoping that someone may be able to help me, let me tell you our setup.
Backup Server: Windows Server 2003, Backup Exec 9.1, Ultrium LTO tape drive.
Exchange Server: Windows Server 2000, Exchange 2003.
Our process runs through successfully most of the time, however intermittently we get some problems during the restore which stops the whole process working.
When the restore fails it gets nearly all the way through the restore 109Gb and then fails. The final error code is as follows:
"0xa000848e - Unable to restore File Attributes Security or Directory Security Information"
I also get the following displayed in the errors section:
"Access denied to database Log files."
"Error writing file data."
The thing that bugs me is sometimes the process works fine, we've do it 4 times recently and the first 3 went perfectly! I need to stop our process being flaky and any help would be much appreciated!!
One thing that I must say is that before I start the restore, in Exchange System Manager I do tick "This database can be overwritten by a restore" for both stores.
