Thanks .::[ashX]::.

The first error messages i was getting were "Please Insert Overwritable Media" this was after first write to tape ten BE spits out the tape.

If you put tape back in it then proceeded to run bu.

Then after i dropped all media in media set into Scratch to make BE re use all tapes and create a NEW catalog in revived the new msg Unknown Error e00084cf which made no sence.

OK,

Do on thing, Move all tapes from Scratch Media to Media Set 1.

And make sure that in Job Setup, Destination --> Device and Media --> Media Set is set to Media Set 1.

Thanks

Hi,

If you are using tapes from Different Media Set than "Media Set 1", then you should push them to "Media Set 1".
This helps you only if they contain SPACE for taking backup (i.e. Appendable).
But I am not sure that BExec will append data on these tapes or not.
Many times it is erasing the tape and using it for writing.

Better if these tapes don’t contain important data. Then you should “Quick Erase” it and put it in “Media Set 1”

Else you should take NEW tapes and follow:

Quick Erase --> Put it in “Media Set 1

Thanks,
