Restore priv1.stm and priv1.edb only

I have a SBS 2000 using 10d for SBS. I backup Exchange with the exchange agent. I want to restore the priv1.stm and priv1.edb files only to an alternate folder. Can I restore just these files without restoring to an Exchange Server or to the current Exchange server?

I don't think you can no, because the actual individual files aren't themselves backed up, "Exchange" is, so there are no individual files available for restore unless you stopped all the Exchange services so the files were no longer locked, and then backed them up.
