I have a client that used BE12 to archive data on their old server. This are flat files... no exchange, sql, etc. They have migrated to a new server and elected not to use Backup Exec any longer. Is there a utility to restore these without having to load BE12 on the new server? Can I load it on a laptop and mount the BKF files (on a USB drive)? Thanks. Any input greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You can try using the built-in Windows backup utility to access the files, but there is no guarantee this will work.
If it doesn't work, then your only option is to load BE 12 on a server and restore before backing it up with the new backup application.
Thanks!
