Restoring SQL 2005 to a different server in a different domain

i have 2 domain, domain A has a DC which is a Win 2k server with SQL 2000& i have a Win 2003 R2 Server with SQL 2005, both servers have separate SQL databases on & both have there own backup that runs every night.
Domain B has 2 DC 1 is SBS 2003 premium, & the other is Win 2003 R2 with SQL 2005, only the SBS 2003 server has a tape drive.
i need to restore a SQL database from the Win 2003 R2 server in domain A to the Win 2003 R2 server in domain B, because the server i am restoring to has no tape drive i need to restore from the SBS 2003 server.

i have a backup tape from Win 2003 R2 Server in domain A, i have put it in the SBS 2003 server. i have cataloged the tape & installed the remote agent on the Win 2003 R2 server.

but i hit problems testing the 'Resource Credentials' i try using the 'System Logon Account' and it fails, so i create a new account using the domain administrator account detail. and it still doesn't work.
the 'Test Results' i get is 'The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.'

Hi,

In domain A , as you mentioned, you have Win 2k server with SQL 2000 ..?

so could ple explain.. "i need to restore a SQL database from the Win 2003 R2 server in domain A to the Win 2003 R2 server in domain B, because the server i am restoring to has no tape drive i need to restore from the SBS 2003 server."

The setup is not clear ..

-- On which servers you have BE installed ?

Update us on the same and revert for any further Query
Hope this will help you

Thank you
Gauri

If you can afford a little downtime, one option might be to try detaching the database in domain A, backing up the database files, and reattaching the database in domain A (assuming you want to retain the database in domain A).
Then restore the database files in domain B, and attach the database there.
