Restoring a File

Hello,

The problem that I am having is as follows: There is a file that I am trying to restore but unable to, although I can see the file when I am in the Restore section and It tells me which tape I should use to get the file. It gets more complicated because when I do an inventory to the tape it is recognized as unknown media. So, after I do a quick erase to make the tape readable, of course the ID for that tape is now different. Is there anyway of searching the tape manually to find the file, without using the wizard. Or what can I do to get this file that I need.

Did you run an erase operation on the tape that contained the file you need to restore?
You may search for files to restore by catalog information from the edit menu in the backup exec menu bar.
