Restoring a Seagate Backup Exec for NT backup

I have a backup on a DVD-RAM drive of my C drive. It was
written with Seagate BackupExec for Win NT. I want to restore it.
I opened the the first volume (1 of 3) in Windows Explorer, and it contains 3 files: Backup.001, Backup.002, and Backup.003. I can't seems to be able to add the device (H: ) to the Backup Exec program. I have backup exec version 8.60 Rev 3878, running on Win2K, which I just installed.

I have critical information on this backup and I need to restore it ASAP.

The old seagate for servers product would NOT write to CD or DVD - only to tape, The Desktop version would. And as I recall, Desktop and Server products did NOT produce compatible files.

You probably need to hunt around and see if you can find install media for BackupExec for Windows Desktops, and try to get that installed

I just solved my problem. Turns out the files were actually written by a program called "Instant Backup", and I saved a copy of it on my D drive - fortunately, it runs without being installed, and I am restoring my backup as we speak.

Thanks for your help.
