Restoring a delted Excahnge 2007 Mailbox

Hi,

 

Apologies if this issues has already been addressed but couldn't seem to find what I was looking for.

 

A user's mailbox and user account has been deleted and we can not restore the mailbox unless the user account exists within Active Directory.

 

In the backup options we have enabled the option to automatically recreate user accounts and mailboxes, which uses our admin password. However, when trying to restore the account we get the following error:

 

"The database that the mailboxes reside in is dismounted or is not accessible. Ensure that the server is available and that the database is mounted, and then run the job again."

 

The mailbox restore works perfectly when the user account actually exists.

 

Using Exchange 2003 and Backup Exec 11d we were able to restore all mailboxes with it recreating user accounts within AD.

 

Please can someone point me in the right direction to resolving this.
