Used the same account as the backup had used, but get:
The job failed with the following error: Authentication failed on connection to the server.
Restoring to the same server but different mailbox.
Using the Administrator account in both scenarios.
What's up?

In order to resolve the issue, please perform the following and verify the results:

- Enable the restrict anonymous support using the following technote:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/238618.htm

In order to isolate the issue,

Create a new unique account (should not share the first 5 letters with any other account)
- Grant that account Domain Admins and Administrators group membership
- Create a mailbox for the account with the same display and alias names as the domain account name
- Grant the account Service Account Admin rights in Exchange at the server, site, org levels
- In Backup Exec, Tools | Backup Exec Services, change the Services Credentials to the new account
- Stop then restart the services
- In Backup Exec, Network | Logon Accounts menu, change the default account to this new account
- Log on with the new account to verify that you can send and receive email and open other users’ mailboxes
- Run your redirected restore

We hope this will help.
