Robotic Library Hardware Error after BE9.1 SP3

Since we installed SP3 on our BE9.1 servers, all three servers that have Sony LIB-162 tape libraries have started reporting Event Id 58053, Backup Exec Alert: Device Error,
Robitic library hardware error. The robotic library has reported a general hardware error condition. Manual intervention, calibrartion, etc. may be required. (etc).

Have tried upgrading tape device drivers to both latest Veritas and manufacturer versions, but no change.

Do I need to upgrade the changer driver? This is already at the latest manufacturer version and was fine before SP3.

The device appears in the Supported Devices list, and the Veritas drivers are from the 273853 package.

Stopping and starting the BE Device driver service brings the device straight back on line and it will then run more jobs before off-lining itself again (same on all 3 servers).

Any ideas how to resolve please?

Hello,

Check for device or driver related errors in the Windows event logs. Are you able to see the devices in the device manager in Windows?

Refer to the following technotes which might help resolve the problem:

Title: Event ID 58053: "Robotic library hardware error. The robotic library has reported a general hardware error condition. Manual intervention, calibration, etc. may be required. This may be a device related hardware problem, or it may be some other hardware problem (i.e. SCSI card/bus etc.). The library and drive states have been set to offline."

Title:How to disable, delete, and then again re-enable a device in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 for Windows Servers

Title: Event ID 58053: A "Storage Device Configuration Error" is reported after attempting any tape device operation

Hope this helps. Revert with details if the issue persists.

I regret none of those articles shed any additional light on this. What further details would help pursue this please?
