Hi,
I have tried running the installer for the Linux Backup Exec Agent (Rel 12), and it does nothing, ie.
Root is a member of the 'beoper' group.
su - root
cd /media/cdrom
./installralus
....then it returns to the command prompt in under a second having done nothing. No errors, nothing. Note sure if this is a GUI tool, so made sure the display was working first:
export DISPLAY=:0.0
xhost +
xclock <- this proves that the xdisplay is working ok.
Running the installer with this all set also does nothing. Any ideas what is wrong here?

Matt,
installRalus is a CLI. Could you post the ralus installation log which should be created under /var/tmp/vxif/installralus..? Also if there is none, then trace running an strace against the installraluts.

Hi,
In regards to your issue what you can try is, do not run the installation directly from the cdrom by mounting it. Infact, create a folder (eg. BE_agent) at the root destination. Then copy the ralus agent files frm the Cdrom to that folder.
once that is done, untar the files if they are tar and then run the ./installralus. Make sure that port 10000 and 6101 is not in use by any other application.

Hi there, same problem with BE 12. Uninstalled RALUS 11d, copied the content of the cd to /root, untared the VRTS-rpms in the pkgs/linux-folder and started ./installralus Nothing happend (no output, no log). Is there any solution? Regards
