SBE and SBS2011 with multiple SQL instances

Hello,

Our trial of BE 12.5 has just expired and I really need to get a licence sorted.  I'm looking at the SBE edition and it looks almost perfect, I just need to check a couple of things out.

In our trial we configured a full backup of the C and D drives, as well as:

All MS SQL Server Instances

Utility Partition (I dont know what this is for)

System State

MS Information Store

Is all of the above covered?

I also notice that there are 5 SQL instances, are they all covered?  They all exist on the SBS server:

BackupExec

Blackberry

Microsoft##SSEE

SBSMONITORING

Sharepoint (we dont use/need this)

Thanks.

Here is a KB article for your reference - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH63920

SBE licenses are per SBE server, so if SQL has multiple instances, that should be fine & covered...

Hi Vidal1,

the utility partition is probably from your servers hardware vendor and should be always protected, in many cases important pieces of your boot-environment are on this small partition and your server would not boot without it. Sometimes they are called OEM partitions.

Please, be aware on Server 2003 BE2012 SDR (Simplified Disaster Recovery function) has a small bug at the moment, here's the workaround: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH189281

Same rules apply for Win 7 and Server 2008R2, have a look here: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH152771
