Hello
With SBS 2008 it already uses a couple of SQL instances for both Sharepoint and system health logging. I chose during my installation of BackupExec to allow BackupExec to create it's own instance and has been installed on a different partition. I thought this might logically make sense.
Is this the correct way to install BackupExec on SBS2008 ? or is it better to have it install in an existing SQL instance ? Will this cause issues when it comes to backing up all of the SQL databases on the server ?
Thank you

To me it makes sense to use a separate instance of SQL Express for BackupExec
If you ever need to do a full Distater Recovery, you need only the SQL Express instance to get BackupExec installed and running. You then use BackupExec to recover your system including other SQL Instances
