SCSI card recommendation

hi all,

I have a dell 2970 server with Windows Server 2008 sp2.  I also have a Quantum Superloader 3 and BE 12.5.

What is the best SCSI card that I can get that will work with all these?  Also, is there a list of approved/tested hardware that works well with BE 12.5 so I can select from a list of options?  Any other issues that I've missed?

Thanks,

TB

Hi,

Most of the SCSI or SAS controller works but need to have SCSI & library configration as per the link below for it to work correctly :

Thanks Munir.  I've decided to go with the integrated Dell Single channel ultra 320 SCSI PCIe host adapter that comes with this Dell server.  I'll report back if I have any good info to share.

Thanks again,

TB

Dell's are fine, and often based on LSI Logic cards which are also fine..

Just for future folks, do not use a servers embedded RAID card or a SCSI RAID card for that matter for a tape or library hookup.  You NEED a dedicated SCSI or SAS card with no RAID functionality.  (Gosh I miss the old days of the Adaptec 29xxUW and call it a day)
