Dear all,
i want to backup a SQL2000 Server (OS: Windos 2000 Server) with my BES 12.5 (OS: W2003Server)
We installed the last BES Agent on the SQL Server, in the selection on the BES i see the Databases,
if i want to backup it, i got the following message:

###
Completed status: Completed with exceptions

###

following message

###
Backup- server.domain

Database \p2pdatsf was not found, or could not be accessed.
###

last message

###

Backup- server.domain

The item server.domain\p2pdatsf in use - skipped.
###

The permissions are not the problem, any other idea?

Is this the only instance of SQL 2000 or you have other instances on the Windows 2000 server, that you are having trouble with backup. Does the Backup Exec logon account have administrative rights on SQL database and the instance?

Thanks

both are YES
- yes, we have different instances, all with the same problem
- yes, first we try backup admin permissions, following from admin permissions

Do you see any events in the SQL server event viewer, when the backup is initiated? What else does the job log show, apart from the message that you have displayed, it must have some other details.

Thanks

As a test, i would like you to do this:
Go to the backup job properties, "Microsoft SQL" tab and set "consistency check before backup" to None. Run the backup job and check the results. It seems some of your databases have issues with consistency check. Please note that consistency check would help us determine any issues with the databases before starting the backup, it is recommended to perform them. If it is not working, something in the database needs to be checked.

Thanks

Please go to the SQL server and set "create debug log" value in following registry key:
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Symantec\Backup Exec for Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\Logging
to 1.
Restart "Remote Agent.... " service on the SQL server. Run the backup job again. Once, backup job completes, browse to c:\program files\symantec\backup exec\RAWS\logs folder and check "beremote... .log" file. There must be some more detailed error message in this file.

Thanks

This is SQL VDI issue, is this a 64 bit OS? You might need an updated VDI, if it is.
Also, check the server for presence of sqlvdi.dll. If it is there, check permissions on that file. You may try giving "everyone" full rights if it does exist.

Thanks
