SQL backup with Backup Exec 11D SBS

Hi all,

I am using Backup Exec 11D for SBS servers STD I cannot see the SQL server 2000 instance, what I see instead is an Instance of the standard Sharepoint MSDE (Installed by Windows SBS itself).
It can be found shadow copy components > Service state > <SQL server name>
I stopped the MSDE instance but still no SQL server instance.

If you look at Backup Exec 10.0 there is an option to select SQL server, but I cannot find it in Backup Exec 11d.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Please check the following registry key:
HKLM\Software\Symantec\Backup Exec\Engine\NTFS
Ensure that Restrict Anonymous Support. is set to 1

If it is not, please set it to 1 and restart Backup Exec Services.

Let me know if this corrects the issue.

Thanks.
Patty

Do you have BE for SBS Standard or Premium?
What version of SBS do you have?

Hi Mark,

BE SBS Standard does not support SQL.

You would have to have the premium license.
