I have a customer that is running SDE 9 (BMC Software, IIS Application) that connects to SQL2K db via odbc.
The backup exec is utilizing the Shadow Copy Service.
Periodically, the SDE Application errors with Problem connecting to the database.
If we remove Backup Exec and Disable Shadow copy, the issue is no longer there.
App server is Win2k3 Standard, SP1
DB Server is same with SQL2k SP3
I have had seen this with two other customers running vm and exec running on the host, removing BackupExec and Shadow Copy Service, resolved the issue.
Three is the magic number, now I need to get to the bottom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
