SUper DLTape I - Capacity not displayed properly

Jay_L
Not applicable
I use Fujifilm Super DLTape I .

The media has a capacity of 160/320. I assume that the media can hold compressed data of 160 GB.

Where as I am getting a message that media is not overwritable when the media utilizes 140GB. The available space is shown a 4 KB.

Can some body help me understand this scenarion and guide me on how to make the media use 160GM.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If the device is supporting hardware compression, it can be enabled in
Backup Exec.

It may not be possible to achieve twice the amount of native capacity.
Refer: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/199542.htm

You may try backup using Windows native backup utility. Stop all the Backup
Exec services from services applet and run NTbackup. Verify the tape
capacity and compression.

Additionally upgrade the firmware and install latest drivers.
