Saving Backup-to-disk files as windows directory structure rather than .bkf

We are currently migrating user backups to another server due to size limitations, and would like to have this managed centrally rather than using a script file activated at logon (which it is currently). Due to this users are used to being able to recover their own files from the backup drive, rather than getting IT to recover them.

Is it possible to have the backup-to-disk files saved as a Windows directory structure rather than a .bkf?

Hi,

It is not possible to Backup the data in Windows File Structure as the Backup format is .BKF

Workaround:
Perform a redirected restore of the files and folders on a different location and get the file structure

Hope this helps !!!

BKFis the only format that can be used?

Unfortunately Yes...

If its TAPE Backup the format is MTF (Microsoft Tape Format) and for disk Backups its .BKF format.

However, you can use the DLO option in BE and it will save the original file structure.

Or use the CPS option too, for user self restores.

CPS is free in BE12 and higher.

You get 5 DLO licenses with BE 12 and higher, additional ones come in 5, 10, and 25 packs and are cheaper than you think...
